JAIPUR — Deepshika Prasad, a student of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur, has emerged as one of the top scorers in the CBSE Class 12 examinations with an outstanding 99.6%. The NEET aspirant, originally from Patna, Bihar, has been living in Jaipur for the past nine years and now aims to secure admission into a reputed government medical college.
A dedicated student, Deepshika achieved perfect scores in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Vocal Music. She credited her parents and friends for their unwavering support during her academic journey.
“My parents are the reason behind my success,” she told Education Times. Her father, a senior section engineer with Indian Railways, lives apart from the family due to work, but remains a strong guiding force. Her mother, who set aside her own ambitions to support Deepshika’s education, has been a constant source of strength.
Deepshika also acknowledged the role of her friends. “They kept me motivated and emotionally grounded during tough times,” she said.
A disciplined approach to studies played a key role in her success. Deepshika followed a structured daily routine, preparing to-do lists each night and allocating time blocks to specific tasks. “I would dedicate an hour to reading NCERT chapters, followed by time for solving previous years’ questions or revision,” she explained. She also enrolled in online coaching with Physics Wallah during Class 11.
To stay focused, Deepshika took a bold step by cutting off digital distractions. “I deleted all my social media accounts in Class 11, except YouTube for academic content and WhatsApp for communication with teachers and friends,” she said.
While Biology remains her favorite subject, Deepshika also pursued her passion for music, scoring a perfect 100 in Vocal Music. “Singing, dancing, and reading novels help me unwind,” she shared.
Having recently appeared for the NEET-UG exam, she now hopes to pursue an MBBS and contribute to society as a doctor. “I’ve always dreamed of making a difference through medicine,” she said.
Reflecting on her journey, Deepshika said she drew motivation from watching topper interviews. “Visualizing success kept me going. Today, that vision has come true.”
She offered a message of encouragement to other students: “Believe in yourself. Be consistent. Your only competition is with yourself—don’t let comparisons steal your confidence.”
