Dr. David A. Davis, Mercer’s Director of Fellowships and Scholarships, praised the university’s ongoing success, stating, “Mercer is consistently one of the nation’s top producers of Gilman Scholars. This is not an accident. It reflects the quality of our students, our commitment to making international experiences accessible, and our dedicated support staff in Global Education and Fellowships and Scholarships.”

Gilman Scholars receive up to $5,000, with additional funding available for recipients of the Critical Need Language Award, to support their study abroad or internship expenses.

Mercer has earned recognition as both a Gilman Top Producing Institution and a Gilman Greatest Growth Institution, reflecting its efforts to broaden participation and achieve priority outcomes in international education.

Bryan Johnson, Global Education Programs Coordinator, added, “The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship is a prestigious national award. Mercer University’s continued excellence in the number of students awarded year over year testifies to the dedication, intelligence, and tenacity of our student body, as well as the hard work of our Global Education and Fellowships and Scholarships staff, who are committed to helping students achieve their dreams internationally and here on campus.”

This accomplishment highlights Mercer University’s leadership in fostering global learning opportunities and supporting students’ academic and professional growth on an international stage.
